Dr. Liu has been appointed as an Associate Editor for the journal of Energy Technology (Wiley). Energy Technology is an applied energy journal that provides an interdisciplinary forum for researchers and engineers to share important progress in energy research. The journal publish articles from all perspectives on technical aspects of energy process engineering, covering the generation, conversion, storage, and distribution of energy.

Dr. Liu's lab has received a new R&D funding from Buffalo Fund for developing self-powering technique to address the power challenge for Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) sensing system. This project is in collaboration with TSI, one of the major players in global market of HVAC system. Similar concept can be applied for many other IoT scenario where sustainable energy is required.
